Tony Dancer - Musician and Teacher

Tony began his musical journey as a jazz drummer getting his first drum kit at the age of 9.  By the age of 22, Tony had performed across the UK in various groups and bands, backing cabaret artists and playing holiday resorts until he was booked to play at "The Club In", Eilat Israel.

At age 24, Tony embarked on a new musical journey to learn the Classical Guitar.  Within 4 years, he had passed grade 8 with honours and performed in some of the most prestigious UK venues, going on to residential work in the Channel Islands.  Following his success with the Classical Guitar, Tony went on to play Jazz Piano, fulfilling a life long ambition and also gaining Grade 8 classical piano.  His love, ambition and passion for music has never dwindled!

Tony gained a BA Hons in Music with History and became a qualified teacher following PGCE training at Reading University.  Tony was Head of Music at a Farnham school where he secured outstanding results, was musical director and conductor for several stage productions, lead orchestras, initiated the installation of music software and run international music performance trips to France, Germany and Holland. Many of Tony's students have gone on to pursue successful careers in music for themselves.

Since 2015, Tony has worked in various primary schools as music coordinator, has escorted pupils to the O2 for "Young Voices", and as a teacher of shared and individual instrumental lessons has coached children from scratch to Grade 4 and from there to the upper grades.  Tony has also taught whole class curriculum lessons at primary level and provided piano accompaniment for Christmas plays and productions.
